Non-Resident Freshman Scholarship
WVU Tech has a long reputation of academic excellence and undergraduate research. We build on this tradition by recruiting academic all-stars. Consequently, we offer students a variety of scholarships to reward excellence in the classroom.

Non-Resident Freshman Scholarships also must meet this requirements:
- Satisfy WVU Tech’s General Requirements for Admission of High School Graduates
- Meet college specific and program specific requirements complete at least 24 credit hours of WVU Tech courses applicable to graduation during an academic year
- Recipients can only maintain receipt of the scholarship for four contiguous academic years
- Level 1 Nonresident Freshmen Scholarship recipients must have a minimum 3.00 overall GPA from WVU Tech
- Level 2 and 3 Nonresident Freshmen Scholarship recipients must have a minimum 2.75 overall GPA from WVU Tech
- Only the WVU Tech Campus Provost can grant exceptions to this criterion. Appeals for exceptions to this criterion must be submitted to the WVU Tech Campus Provost Office for consideration at least 60 days before the exception is required.
STEM Non-Resident Freshman Scholarship
WVU Tech offers Freshman Scholarships and Grants to students from other states. No special application is required.
One such scholarship is our Non-Resident Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Freshman Scholarship, which offers in-state tuition rates to qualified out-of-state students.
Simply apply for admission at www.wvutech.edu/administration/registrar/apply.html WVU Tech does not charge an application fee, so investing in a brighter future will only cost you a few minutes.
In addition to assessing your eligibility for Freshman Scholarships and Grants, our Financial Aid staff will examne a variety of options to make the WVU Tech experience affordable. These include, but are not limited to:

Scholarship Overview
WVU Tech takes pride in its long-standing reputation as one of the nation’s best engineering, science and technology institutions. This scholarship is currently valued at $8,100 per year and $32,400 over four years.
STEM Non-West Virginia Resident Freshman Scholarship Requirements:
- Satisfy the entry requirements for a STEM program
- High School GPA of 3.00
- Minimum ACT score of 24 (SAT 1110)
- Enroll in a STEM program
