Financial Aid
WVU Tech students receive grants, loans, work study, fee waivers, and scholarships. Awards are based on financial need, academic ability, and being the first person in your family to attend college.
About 55 percent of WVU Tech students receive some financial aid; almost half of the aid given to resident undergraduates is as grants and scholarships.
Applying for Financial Aid
To apply for financial aid, you need to submit your admissions application to WVU Tech and file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with the federal processing center before the March 1 absolute deadline.
Electronic submission is the recommended method. The FAFSA is available on the Web after January 1.
Our school code is 003827.
If you prefer to submit the FAFSA through paper application, you need to request a FAFSA from the US Department of Education by contacting Federal Student Aid Programs at 1-800-4FED-AID. Allow two weeks for receipt.
FAFSA Need-Based Deadlines:
Priority Deadline – February 15 if mailing a paper FAFSA.
In order for the student to maximize their eligibility for all aid programs, it is recommended that the FAFSA be filed by March 1st.
There is no deadline for Pell Grants or student loans.
